چکیده

The current challenge for the development of beekeeping is possibility bee pests invading new areas. It well known that each geographical range has its unique pest species. fly Megaselia scalaris a facultative parasitoid to honey bees. This been recorded in various countries while information about it Saudi Arabia still seldom. main objective this study was follow spread from North Africa/South Europe towards Gulf utilizing ecological modeling. Maxent, as specialist software analyzing species distribution, used combination five environmental factors. analysis performed cover and future conditions (2050). outputs model were analyzed regard their performance distribution M. area. top factor contributing annual mean temperature with percentage 56.3. maps emphasized possible occurrence northern parts Arabia. wide establishment central southern not supported. Screening apiaries located Northern areas presence using specific bait traps could be good recommendation study.

Climate change and animals in Saudi Arabia.

Global warming is occurring at an alarming rate and predictions are that air temperature (T a) will continue to increase during this century. Increases in T a as a result of unabated production of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere pose a threat to the distribution and abundance of wildlife populations worldwide. Although all the animals worldwide will likely be affected by global warming, diur...

Modeling the effect of climate change to the potential invasion range of Piper aduncum Linnaeus

The potential effect of invasive plant species on biodiversity is one of most important subject of inquiry at present. In many parts of the world, the alarming spread of these plants has been documented. Knowing that climate exerts a dominant control over the distribution of plant species, predictions can therefore be made to determine which areas the species would likely spread under a climate...

Potential antibacterial activity of some Saudi Arabia honey

AIM The aim of this study was to investigate the potential antibacterial activity of some Saudi Arabia honey against selected bacterial strains of medical importance. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 10 Saudi Arabia honey used to evaluate their antimicrobial activity against some antibiotic-resistant pathogenic bacterial strains. The bacterial strains were Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus...

A Maximum Entropy/Ecological Niche Modeling Prediction of the Potential Distribution of Leischmaniasis under Climate Change

Leishmaniasis is a life-threatening disease caused by protozoan parasites of the genus Leishmania and is transmitted by the bite of several species of sand fly (subfamily Phlebotominae). Global climate change has the potential to alter the distribution of these insect vectors. Here I use maximum entropy (maxent) ecological niche modeling (ENM) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(I...

Modeling Current and Future Potential Distributions of Caspian Pond Turtle (Mauremys caspica) under Climate Change Scenarios

Although turtles are the most threatened taxonomic group within the reptile class, we have a very limited understanding of how turtles respond to climate change. Here, we evaluated the effects of climate changes on the geographical distribution of Caspian pond turtle (Mauremys caspica). We used an ensemble approach by combining six species distribution models including artificial neural network...
